The Troll and his Bird of Prey

So I want to Start doing things more serious and get into Illustration/ Concept art Field. Either I will do Freelance or I will try and get a job. Either works fine for me! I am working more Digital than Traditional ( I have moments when I feel that I am slacking off from Traditional ) but... I am enjoying this. 

So...

The troll and his Bird of prey! 

Like Someone told me.. If i want my work to be noticed I got to add stories behind my characters. So The Story is:

Though people think all trolls are evil! This one is from a Village up in the mountains where the trolls live in peace with nature and their companions. They travel from village to village using their trusty Mountain Ram. They have a way of receiving fast news by using Birds of prey. That's about it.

Inspired a lot from Mongolian culture.

So I have been playing WoW for like 6 years with lond breaks and short breaks in between so i felt like it was time to paint my Ryn... Got some inspiration rom like Legend of the Seeker. Kept WoW art direction but I Gotta say! I am exited about the next expansion!

So I have been working with digital and traditional media lately. I am starting to accept commission from traditional media to digital media. 

But this is something I did and i wish i had enough money to send it to him. But one day! I will have that money and He will receive the gift! Something better as well! hehe! 

Dunno how much time i spent on this. But i am starting to get into synthetic brushes again. Helps me get a certain smoothness that i like.

I tried to re work this one but apparently I am stuck. Got some help but I realized that i will leave it like this and do another one. Learned a lot from this one.

The Prey

I haven't felt very well this week... but today I managed to paint this little painting. 

Alla Prima oil on canvas, 42x33cm, like 4 hours work. It was really dark and I think I will continue with the museum next week. Need to rest my brain and my eyes. The museum is also stressful because of all the people there. 

Dragon+PS

I barely do anything in PS... but I noticed by painting so much at the museum in different light my lighting skills have improved. Imagination and as well. Anyway, done today in like 7 hours. 

My last Figure Pose

This was the last figure pose I did at Atelier Stockholm. I did this I think during April. I am not very happy with it so maybe that's why I didnt want to post it that much but... it is good to see what i have been studying. it was done in less than 4 weeks. Monday, wednesday and thursday i worked on it for like 3 hours. Not sure how big it is. Maybe like 80x65cm.

Eagle

I did this one in two sessions at the museum last week. I got it finally today and retouched varnish it. It is 130x80cm. 

In july i will have a personal exhibition with the animals done at the museum. Hopefully it will be a succes. 

Tove

Today I Painted my friend Tove. I did it while we had the open house at Atelier Stockholm. Like 2 hours work.
I also took a photo of the first painting I did, 8 months ago, of the same model. So you can see the big difference in technique style and well... I got better easily said. 

Owl

Today I painted an owl! The light here was realy intense for me... Got sick at a point but I managed to finish it! Really love paintin from life! Prefer more this than from a photo.

Brown Rat

Today i painted this little guy! While I was painting the lights of this cabin went off... So i used my mobile flash to work on this one for like 20 min then the light came back! Pfiu...

Anyway! Done At Nature Museum here in Stockholm.

Doing this everyday drained me from my energy. Time to relax! :3

Raccoon Dog

So today I painted this little guy! I like the way the canvas is left out! I asked someone at the museum if they like it this way. She said "Very much... it is interesting"

Need to rest now since my head hurts. There where a lot of people, mostly kids, at the museum today.

Sketching....

Sketching improves your art a lot... I draw from photos and teach myself about puting time and thinking in what i do! It helps me get faster... faster in the way that i see shapes and i understand the objects at a faster rate.

So today I painted a brown pelican. I like how I didn't paint over the canvas around his body.

Museum day 5

This one was a pretty hard one to paint though it looks so simple... why? Well because i did not have a good position and i always moved around my subject instead of having just one angle! I wish to put more time into my paintings! I will also, maybe, get this chance to go to the deposit of the museum and paint more than just birds ( the mammals that they are showing, not so many to choose from )
